Our sales people don't seem to plan very well.
They drive thousands of miles for very little return.
It's possible to get 30% more sales from a territory when people are

are not spending in front of a customer. Some salespeople actually boast
about the number of miles they drive each year as if it's something to
be proud of. In reality, they should boast instead about the
number of calls they achieve each day, and the amount of time they spend
in each call. That activity will yield results.
Then there's the issue of the number of
possibilities that are out there that we don't know about. How
much time do our people spent treading the same path when they could be
looking for new opportunities? Are they actually spending enough
time on their territory each day? Would we like to see this
improved?
