I have a group of sales managers that don't seem
to be able to get the best out of their staff. What should I do to help
them?
The best salespeople don't
always make the best sales managers. This is possibly because they are
not given the same amount of training and support in their management
role that they received when they were selling. They have possibly
modelled themselves on another manager, who in turn....and so on. We're
sure you'll agree when we say that sales managers need to inspire,
motivate and lead their team.
What help might they need?:
- They will need
to know what makes people work and achieve at high levels.
- They will set goals, monitor performance, and
encourage the team to meet them. Have they the tools to do that?
- They could need to do coaching in the field. Have
they the necessary skills?
- They will be
called upon to correct performance. They will need to be able to do
this without demotivating the team member.
- They will need
to address the team in a way that engages them, and motivates them to
perform better.
- They will run
meetings. They will need the skills to make the meetings motivational.
These are just a
few possible things that we might need to address.
If you want some
ideas of the sorts of things we can do to help, go to the
training page
to scroll through some ideas, or go
direct to the
Effective Sales Management page if you're pushed for time. Please
note that either option is showing you examples of what can be covered.
Your workshop(s) will be tailored to fix the issues facing your
business.

obligation meeting, email us
