We seem to be able to generate a lot of
quotations/proposals without seeing enough business from them.
This is a fairly
common issue, particularly where the product or service is complicated.
Somehow salespeople lapse into selling proposals rather than the product
or service. What follows is a protracted sales cycle, and often lost
business. If we are not careful we are acting as free consultants to our
client.
Quotations and Proposals, though
sometimes necessary, are time consuming and expensive. They are best
